About
The AI Centre is led by King’s College London and Guy's and Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, alongside multiple NHS Trusts, Universities and UK and multi-national industry partners.
Established in February 2019, we are funded by public sector grants from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), Office of Life Sciences, delivered through Innovate UK. This funding has enabled us to develop AI platforms and tools with the aim of supporting clinicians and benefiting patient experience.
With the help of our AI expert consortium partners, we have developed sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms from NHS medical images and patient data to provide tools for clinicians to speed up and improve diagnosis and care across several patient pathways.
As part of our commitment to supporting the development and implementation of robust, secure, and trustworthy clinical AI we are also carrying out pioneering work in establishing ethics and data governance models.
