Liver disease is the third leading cause of premature death in the UK and the incidence rate is rising.

This project will develop and deploy an artificial intelligence tool to improve the detection and characterisation of lesions in MRI and CT scans of patients with suspected liver cancer. The AI tool will combine information derived from medical imaging along with non-imaging clinical data to support clinicians.

The aim of this AI tool is to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of tumours in patients with liver cancer. This project will involve the automated detection, segmentation and characterisation of lesions, alongside established clinical scoring systems, to categorise disease state and classify patient response types.

This study will use imaging and clinical data collected from patients over the course of their treatment.
